Reasons why wire cutting is easy to break and how to solve it
Wire cutting equipment is very commonly used in metal processing, but what are the reasons if the molybdenum wire is often easily broken during production? How should we deal with it? We can pay attention to the following aspects:
1. The quality of molybdenum wire is poor. There are many brands of molybdenum wire on the market and the prices vary. We must choose good quality molybdenum wire and not just look at the cheap price.
2. The processing parameters are set unreasonably. When processing different materials and workpiece thicknesses, we should choose appropriate processing parameters. If the processing current is set too high, it is very easy to break the wire.
3. If the conductive block is worn and the groove pinches off the wire, we need to adjust the conductive block to a new position. If the wear is severe, the conductive block needs to be replaced.
4. The concentration of the cutting fluid is inappropriate. We should keep the concentration of the cutting fluid within the range of 11~12.5%. Cutting fluid concentration that is too low or too high is not suitable for processing.
5. The workpiece deforms and pinches off the molybdenum wire, and the material is deformed by heat during cutting. We need to choose a reasonable material processing technology, pre-process the wire holes, pre-cut to release stress, optimize the cutting path, etc.
6. There are non-conductive impurities inside the workpiece material or non-conductive oxides on the surface. At this time, we should replace the material and remove the non-conductive impurities before cutting.
7. The flushing fluid is too small and cannot effectively penetrate into the cutting seam. Severe discharge conditions may cause wire breakage. We should set a reasonable flushing fluid size and regularly check whether the cutting fluid is sufficient and whether the circulation channel is unobstructed.
8. Regarding the accuracy of the guide wheel, we must strictly follow the maintenance instructions of the wire cutting machine tool to replace the bearings regularly, and replace the guide wheel or bearing when necessary.
9. The tension provided by the counterweight is too large. We need to select the appropriate number of counterweights according to the diameter of the molybdenum wire.
10. The molybdenum wire loses a lot. After a period of use, the molybdenum wire becomes thinner. We must replace the molybdenum wire in time.
